You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis
Bladder endometriosis vs IC (IC/BPS): how can I tell?
They can feel very similar, and some patients have both. Bladder endometriosis pain often has a hormonal pattern—flaring around your period—and may occur alongside other endometriosis symptoms like pelvic pain, painful sex, or bowel symptoms.
IC/BPS more often feels tied to bladder function: pain or pressure that worsens as the bladder fills and improves after you urinate, sometimes with symptom flares linked to certain foods or drinks. In our practice, sorting these apart starts with a detailed symptom timeline (including cycle tracking) and a focused pelvic evaluation, and we may use imaging and coordinated urologic evaluation (sometimes including cystoscopy) when it’s needed. If you’re stuck in recurring bladder pain or UTI-like symptoms with negative cultures, reach out to schedule a consultation so we can clarify the driver and map out next steps.
