Do probiotics help endometriosis-related bloating and bowel symptoms?

Generalbowelabdominalpelvic

Probiotics can help some patients with endometriosis who struggle with bloating, gas, or irregular bowel habits, but results are strain-specific and not universal. Certain Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains may support gut barrier function and immune signaling, which can translate into less bloating or more regular stools for some people.

If you’d like to try probiotics, we typically suggest a time-limited trial while you track symptoms so you can tell whether it’s truly helping you. If bowel symptoms are persistent, severe, or fluctuating with pelvic pain, it may also reflect endometriosis involving the bowel, pelvic floor irritation, or overlapping gut conditions—our team can help sort out the drivers and build a plan that addresses the root cause.
