When can I try to get pregnant after myomectomy?

How soon you can start trying to conceive after a myomectomy depends on what was done during your surgery—especially the size and location of the fibroids removed, how deeply the uterine muscle was entered, and how the uterus was reconstructed. The goal is to allow the uterine wall enough time to heal so it can safely stretch and support a pregnancy.

In many cases, we recommend waiting a few months before trying, but the right timeline is individualized. Our team will review your operative details and your fertility goals to guide your next steps, including when it’s reasonable to start trying and what to consider for pregnancy planning. If you’re unsure what your operative report means for timing, reach out to schedule a consultation so we can tailor recommendations to your specific surgery.
