You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis

Are GI symptoms common with endometriosis?

Symptomsbowelabdominalpelvic

Yes—gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms are very common with endometriosis. Many patients experience bloating, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, or cramping, and these symptoms can flare around a period or persist throughout the month.

GI symptoms can come from several endometriosis-related mechanisms, including inflammation in the pelvis, pelvic floor muscle tension that affects bowel function, and (in some cases) endometriosis involving or irritating the bowel. Because these symptoms can look like IBS or food sensitivity, our team focuses on your full pattern of symptoms and cycle timing to clarify what’s driving them and discuss next steps—reach out to schedule a consultation if you’d like a thorough evaluation.
