You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis
Can pelvic floor dysfunction cause bladder urgency or constipation?
Yes. When the pelvic floor muscles are overactive, tight, or not coordinating well, they can interfere with how the bladder and bowel empty. This can show up as bladder urgency, frequent trips to the bathroom, hesitancy, or a feeling of incomplete emptying.
The same muscle “mis-timing” (often called dyssynergia) can make stool harder to pass, contributing to constipation, straining, or a sense that you can’t fully evacuate. Because pelvic floor dysfunction can also overlap with conditions like endometriosis or adenomyosis, we often evaluate the full picture rather than treating urinary or bowel symptoms in isolation. If these symptoms are persistent or cyclical, reach out to schedule a consultation so our team can help pinpoint what’s driving them and map out next steps.
