You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis

Can pelvic floor dysfunction cause urgency and burning?

Topic:Symptoms
Affected areas:pelvicbladdersystemic

Yes. Pelvic floor dysfunction—especially when the muscles are tight or overactive—can create symptoms that feel like a UTI even when urine testing is negative. Muscle tension around the urethra and bladder outlet can contribute to urinary urgency, a sensation of incomplete emptying, and burning or irritation with urination.

Because these symptoms can also overlap with endometriosis, bladder pain syndromes, and recurrent infections, we focus on identifying the true driver of your discomfort rather than treating it as “just a UTI.” Many patients improve with targeted pelvic floor physical therapy strategies such as down-training, relaxation, and biofeedback, and our team can help you determine whether pelvic floor muscle dysfunction is part of your picture.
