You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis
What red flags are more urgent than endometriosis?
If pain is sudden and severe—especially with fever, repeated vomiting, fainting, a rigid/board-like abdomen, or heavy bleeding (soaking a pad about every hour)—that’s a red flag for something more urgent than endometriosis. A positive pregnancy test with pelvic pain is also urgent because it can signal an ectopic pregnancy.
Other symptoms that shouldn’t wait include new flank pain with fever (possible kidney infection/obstruction), chest pain or trouble breathing, or a painful swollen leg (possible blood clot). Endometriosis can be intense and life-disrupting, but these warning signs point to conditions where delaying evaluation can be dangerous. If you’re dealing with ongoing pelvic pain and are unsure what fits endometriosis versus something else, reach out to our team to discuss your symptoms and next steps.
