You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis

Do I need stool testing or SIBO breath testing?

Topic:General
Affected areas:bowelpelvicabdominal

Most commercial microbiome stool reports aren’t validated to diagnose “dysbiosis” or to guide targeted treatment in endometriosis, so they often create more confusion than clarity. If you’re considering testing, we usually focus first on whether the results will change next steps in a meaningful way.

SIBO breath testing can be more useful when your symptoms fit the pattern—ongoing bloating, gas, belching, and IBS-like digestive upset that doesn’t match your meals or cycle in a predictable way. Our team can help you decide whether breath testing makes sense in your situation and how to interpret results alongside other GI causes that can overlap with pelvic pain. If you’d like, reach out to schedule a consultation so we can map out a gut-and-pelvic workup that’s tailored to your symptoms.
