How is deep infiltrating endometriosis different?

Topic:Deep Disease
Affected areas:pelvicbowelbladder

Deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) is different because it penetrates more deeply into the tissues beneath the surface lining, rather than staying more superficial. It often forms firm nodules and dense scarring (fibrosis), which can tether structures and distort normal anatomy.

Because of that depth and scarring, DIE is more likely to affect nearby organs like the bowel, bladder, and ureters, sometimes narrowing or pulling on them. Symptoms can be more intense and may include nerve-related pain due to involvement of deeper pelvic spaces. In our practice, evaluating DIE means thinking carefully about which organs may be involved and planning treatment accordingly; if you suspect DIE, our team can help you understand your options and whether surgery may be appropriate.

Struggling with Deep Endometriosis?

Deep infiltrating endometriosis can cause intense pain and organ issues due to deep tissue involvement. Our specialists understand these complex symptoms and provide targeted help for your relief.
