You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis
Is bleeding between periods a sign of adenomyosis or endometriosis?
Yes—bleeding between periods (spotting) can happen with adenomyosis or endometriosis, but it isn’t specific to either condition. Spotting can also come from common issues like uterine polyps or fibroids, cervical irritation/inflammation, or hormone-related cycle changes.
When endometriosis or adenomyosis is involved, intermenstrual bleeding may reflect inflammation, disrupted cycle signaling, or another uterine condition occurring alongside pelvic pain or heavy periods. Because there are also important causes we’ll want to rule out—especially if bleeding is new, persistent, or happens after sex—our team can help you sort out what’s most likely and what testing makes sense.
