Pain from diaphragmatic endometriosis often has a clear pattern: it tends to be cyclical, frequently right-sided, and flares in the days before or during your period. Many patients describe sharp chest or rib pain, pain with deep breaths, or pain that refers up to the shoulder or neck, sometimes alongside more typical pelvic symptoms.

That said, shoulder or chest pain can come from many non-gynecologic causes, especially if it’s left-sided or not tied to your cycle. In our evaluations, we focus on the timing, triggers (like breathing, movement, or meals), and your full symptom picture to sort out whether the diaphragm is a likely source. If your symptoms fit this pattern, reach out to schedule a consultation so our team can review your history and discuss next steps for diagnosis and treatment planning.

Is Your Chest Pain Endometriosis?

If your shoulder or chest pain worsens cyclically around your period, it may be related to diaphragmatic endometriosis. Our specialists can evaluate your symptoms comprehensively and help identify the cause with care and expertise.
