You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis

Can endometriosis irritate or entrap pelvic nerves?

Topic:Deep Disease
Affected areas:pelviclegback

Yes—endometriosis can irritate, inflame, or tether pelvic nerves, especially when disease grows deeply into the tissues. When lesions are near nerves such as the pudendal, sciatic, obturator, or hypogastric nerves, symptoms can feel “neuropathic,” including cyclical sciatica-like leg pain, genital burning, or sharp shooting pain in the rectum or vagina.

Because nerve involvement changes both the evaluation and the surgical strategy, it’s important to look beyond a typical pelvic exam or imaging report when symptoms fit this pattern. Our team can assess whether your pain history suggests nerve contact and discuss whether precise excision could help, sometimes alongside additional nerve-focused support depending on your specific symptoms.
