You are seeking a diagnosis

Why would I need both ultrasound and MRI?

Topic:Diagnosis
Affected areas:pelvicabdominalbowel

Ultrasound and MRI often complement each other because they highlight different findings in different ways. Ultrasound is a great first-line tool for identifying ovarian cysts (including endometriomas) and can sometimes suggest deeper endometriosis depending on where it is and who performs the scan.

MRI provides a broader, more detailed map of the pelvis and can help clarify the location and extent of disease—especially when we’re assessing deeper areas or planning surgery. When both are recommended, it’s usually to reduce uncertainty, better match imaging with your symptoms, and help our team plan the most informed next step—whether that’s continued evaluation or a surgical consultation.

Need Clearer Diagnosis?

Our specialists use ultrasound and MRI together to give a complete picture of your condition. This dual approach helps tailor your treatment plan with precision and care.
