You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis
What symptoms suggest ureter endometriosis?
Ureter endometriosis can be hard to spot because it may cause little to no urinary symptoms at first—even while it quietly narrows the ureter and stresses the kidney. When symptoms do show up, they can include flank or back pain (sometimes worse around your period), deep pelvic pain, and urinary complaints that don’t match urine culture results. Some people notice urinary frequency/urgency or burning, but others feel more vague pressure, one-sided pain, or pain that overlaps with bowel or bladder flares.
The biggest clinical concern is obstruction without obvious warning signs, so clues like recurrent “kidney” pain, unexplained swelling of a kidney/ureter on imaging, or persistent urinary symptoms that don’t behave like infection deserve a focused endometriosis-aware workup. In our evaluation process, we put your full symptom pattern together with a careful exam and targeted imaging (often ultrasound and/or expertly interpreted MRI) to look specifically at deep endometriosis and urinary-tract involvement. If this sounds like your story, reach out to schedule a consultation—mapping urinary-tract disease early can make treatment planning safer and more complete.
