When will I see results from pelvic floor PT, and how often are visits?

Topic:Symptoms
Affected areas:pelvicbladderbowel

Many people start noticing meaningful changes within about 4–6 pelvic floor physical therapy visits, with more complete improvement typically building over the next 8–12 weeks—especially when you’re able to practice the techniques consistently between sessions. Progress can look like less pelvic pain, fewer muscle spasms, improved bladder/bowel comfort, or less pain with sex, but the timeline varies based on what’s driving your symptoms.

Most patients begin with weekly or every-other-week visits to build skills, calm irritated tissues, and retrain muscle patterns. As symptoms stabilize and you feel confident with self-management, sessions are usually spaced out and tapered over time. If you’re dealing with endometriosis or adenomyosis alongside pelvic floor tension, our team can help you understand how pelvic floor therapy may fit into your overall plan—reach out to schedule a consultation.
