You suspect you may have endometriosis or adenomyosis
Do pregnancy or menopause cure endometriosis?
Pregnancy and menopause can temporarily change endometriosis symptoms, but they don’t reliably “cure” the disease. Some patients feel better when ovarian cycling is reduced or hormones are more stable, yet endometriosis lesions can persist and symptoms can return.
It’s also possible to have significant pain flare postpartum or after menopause, particularly with deep disease or endometriosis outside the pelvis. If hormone therapy is being considered after menopause, it should be individualized based on an accurate diagnosis and symptom pattern. Our team can help you understand what to expect through hormonal transitions and discuss options if you’re planning a pregnancy or navigating perimenopause/menopause.
