Is robotic surgery better than laparoscopy for endometriosis?

Topic:Surgery
Affected areas:pelvicbowelbladder

High-quality research suggests that when endometriosis surgery is performed by an expert team, outcomes like pain relief, fertility results, and complication rates are generally similar whether the approach is robotic or standard laparoscopy. In other words, the surgeon’s skill, complete evaluation, and ability to remove disease thoroughly usually matter more than the platform.

Robotics can be especially helpful in certain complex cases—such as deep disease where precise dissection and suturing are needed—because it can improve dexterity and visualization for the surgeon. The trade-offs can include longer time in the operating room and higher overall cost, so “better” depends on your anatomy, disease pattern, and surgical goals. If you’re deciding between approaches, our team can walk you through what we recommend for your specific case and why during a consultation.
