Can acupuncture reduce heavy bleeding or shrink endometriosis lesions?

Acupuncture does not shrink endometriosis or adenomyosis tissue. Evidence that it reliably reduces heavy menstrual bleeding is limited, so we don’t consider it a disease-directed treatment for bleeding caused by these conditions.

That said, some patients find acupuncture helpful for cramping, pelvic pain, and overall symptom coping—especially as a supportive tool alongside a clear plan for evaluation and treatment.
