How can I manage nausea flares at home?

Topic:Symptoms
Affected areas:abdominalpelvicsystemic

During a nausea flare, aim for steady hydration with frequent small sips rather than large drinks, and consider an electrolyte option if you’re not keeping much down. Small, bland portions can be easier to tolerate than full meals, and many people do better with a little food in the stomach—especially if they’re using NSAIDs, which can worsen nausea when taken on an empty stomach.

If nausea is tied to pelvic cramping, gentle heat to the lower abdomen and light movement (as tolerated) can sometimes reduce the pain–nausea cycle. When nausea is severe, persistent, or comes with vomiting, our team can help you sort out possible triggers and discuss prescription anti-nausea options that are compatible with your current treatment plan—reach out to schedule a consultation.
