Recovery after bowel endometriosis surgery depends on what’s done on the bowel (surface excision vs a deeper repair or resection), how extensive the disease is, and whether other areas (ovaries, bladder, ureters, diaphragm) are treated in the same operation. With minimally invasive excision in experienced hands, many patients go home the same day or the next day and are up walking comfortably within about a week.

Most people can resume light daily activities and many types of work in about 2–3 weeks, while the “back to full activity” milestone is often around one month—though bowel-involved cases can take longer when the procedure is more complex.
